Subway Surfers 3.27.1

Infinite level games are somewhat of a trend in recent years. Flappy Bird or Canabalt showed that a simple game can get highly addictive and time consuming. If you add in coin collection, temporary and permanent power-ups then you have something that can easily glue you to the screen for hours.

Subway Surfers is such a game where you help a fast little delinquent to navigate a crowded and endless railway station. Your character runs continuously and your only business is to trigger jumps, swipes and lane changes. Sound familiar? That's because it's tried and true formula. Hitting your head on obstacles or smashing against a moving (or standing) rail cart will lose you the game. Not to worry though, the coins that you have collected throughout will remain and can be used to buy hover-boards, mystery rewards, score boosters and more.

Hover-boards can be used during a run to glide along the path and prevent failure after crashing (once). Hover-boards last a while so if you have enough coin income you can indulge yourself and play most of the time sliding on air. Just like McFly in that movie about time travel.

A cool aspect of Subway Surfers is that it's World Tour edition takes you through different cities every other week or so. The basic idea remains the same but the colors, shapes and bonuses change somewhat which is really refreshing if you're playing daily.

Eventually you can unlock new hover-boards and new characters. Logging into Facebook can yield more rewards and with some real money, you can enable double value coins.

Conclusion

Subway Surfers is a fun and well designed game. The graphics are sleek, the engine performance is good and the gameplay is solid.
